School Feeding: FG clarify why cooks’ cost are delayed

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, has defined why cost is delayed for some cooks underneath the National Homegrown School Feeding Programme.
The delay based on the Ministry was because of a change in cost platform.
The Minister, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq stated the grievance of delayed cost arose as a result of the ministry migrated the cost course of from Remita to the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS).
GIFMIS is an IT-based system applied by the federal authorities to boost accountability and transparency in public monetary administration.

The Ministry in a press release by the SA Media and Press Affairs, Salisu Dambatta nevertheless the assured cooks engaged within the National Homegrown School Feeding Programme (NHSFP) that they’d quickly be paid.
The Minister stated: “The aggregators within the programme have been paid together with the cooks that had been captured by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), whereas cost is excellent for cooks that weren’t captured by the NBS.
“With the conclusion of migration to GIFMIS, all pending payments will be effected within days.”
