Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State on Tuesday declared his intentions to conduct native authorities elections anytime quickly.
He made his intentions recognized by way of a letter he despatched to the state House of Assembly on Tuesday requesting a legislative backing to represent the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC).
Reading the letter from the governor throughout plenary on Tuesday, the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Dr Collins Chiji stated that Governor Uzodinma, urged the legislature to approve the appointment of chairman and members of the Imo state Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC).
The governor nominated Mrs. Pauline Onyeka as Chairman whereas Henry Adimelechi, Ezeukwu, Mrs. Jacinta Uchechukwu and John Ohiri will function members.
The speaker appointed Authur Egwim (Ideato North) because the chairman of the screening committee of the nominees.
He urged the ad-hoc committee to report back to the home on Thursday.
