NYSC suspends on-going orientation course

The National Youth Service Corps has suspended the continuing orientation course which started throughout the nation on March 10.

This was a sequel to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic which led to the cancellation of the National Sports Festival by the Federal Government.

The 2020 Batch ” A” Stream 1 corps members began the orientation in varied camps on March 10.

Mrs Adenike Adeyemi, Director, Press and Public Relations of the scheme, who disclosed this in an announcement in Abuja on Wednesday, mentioned that no corps member or official has contracted the virus.

She mentioned that the corps members can be posted to begin their main assignments.

The spokesperson added that corps member can be invited again to the orientation camps when the state of affairs improves.

She defined that this was what occurred a number of years in the past when the nation was confronted by the Ebola virus risk.
