ICPC to start second section of constituency tasks monitoring nationwide
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has disclosed that it’s going to begin the second section of Constituency Projects Tracking Group Initiatives (CPTG).
Chairman of the Commission, Professor Bolaji Owasanoye, who was represented by Commissioner for Cross River/Akwa Ibom states, Shola Shodipo, acknowledged this yesterday at a Town Hall Meeting titled, “My Constituency, My Project” in partnership with the National Orientation Agency (NOA), ActionAid and Up Right for Nigeria.
He stated the marketing campaign started in Abuja in November final 12 months and that the community-level campaign was taking place in all of the 36 states of the federation this week.
“The initiative, which began with the primary section in 2019 commenced with the monitoring of 12 states to find out whether or not constituency tasks had been executed and accomplished passable.
“This year, the commission will continue tracking projects as the second phase is about to commence. Importantly, the scope of the exercise has now been widened to include projects specifically developed and implemented by the executive arm of government,” he stated.
While tasking communities to carry their representatives accountable for constituency tasks, he stated legislative representatives, who choose tasks achieve this, as a result of they understood their wants.
“The coverage of constituency and different tasks for communities is legitimate proof that authorities means effectively for the folks and it’s by these tasks that authorities touches their lives.
